

Dr. Ricardo Vallejo is the Director of Research at Millennium Pain Center. He is deeply committed to
discovering new methods and treatments for chronic pain. Dr. Vallejo holds multiple appointments in
the editorial boards of international peer review journals such as "Clinical Journal of Pain", "Pain
Physicians", "Journal of Opioid Management and "Revista Mexicana de Anestesiologia".
Dr. Vallejo is the current Associate Editor of the journal “Pain Practice”, where he established the
section “Images in Pain Practice” in 2007. He is also member of the examination board for the World
Institute of Pain. Dr. Vallejo has published extensively in national and international peer review journals
and serves as speaker in meetings around the world. He is adjunct professor at the Illinois State
University. Research interests of Dr. Vallejo include management of chronic pain states, such as
sympathetically maintained pain, fail back surgery, and discogenic low back pain. His research efforts
are aimed at understanding the immune mechanisms underlying neuropathic pain conditions and the
effects of electrical stimulation on the central and peripheral immune response.
Dr. Vallejo received his medical degree in Colombia and then pursued his PhD in Immunology
at the Complutense University in Madrid Spain. During his residency in Anesthesiology at the
University of Miami he became Chief Residence of the program and served as resident
representative for the Florida Society of Anesthesiology and The American Society of
Anesthesiology. Then Dr. Vallejo pursued his fellowship in pain medicine at Harvard Medical
School at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was awarded the Diplomate of the American
Board of Anesthesiology of Anesthesiology in 2001 and further board certification in Pain
Medicine in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Vallejo joined Millennium Pain Center in Bloomington,
Illinois.

Dr. Ramsin Benyamin is the founder and President of Millennium Pain Center. In the eleven years
since the founding of Millennium Pain Center in Bloomington, IL, Dr. Benyamin has expanded the
practice to include offices in Normal, IL, Decatur, IL, Chicago, IL, Pontiac, IL and Barcelona, Spain.
He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine at the University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL. He is also an adjunct Professor in the Department of Biological
Sciences at Illinois State University, Normal, IL; where he conducts basic science research. His
commitment to research, education, and publication has gained him multiple editorial appointments in
International peer review journals including: Pain Practice, Pain Physician, and the Journal of Opioid
Management. Dr. Benyamin is a frequent speaker and serves as faculty for multiple national and
international organizations.
Dr. Benyamin is also immediate Past President of the American Society of Intervention Pain
Physicians (ASIPP). Representing ASIPP, Dr. Benyamin serves as an Alternate Delegate to the House
of Delegates of the American Medical Associations, and is a member of Neuromodulation Therapy
Access Coalition. As a lifetime member of ASIPP, his extensive commitments include membership on
the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Research Committee, Review Course
Director, and a member of the Guidelines Committee.
Dr. Naveen Tipirneni completed his training in Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at Brigham and
Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is double board certified in
Anesthesia and Pain Management. He was awarded Diplomate of the American Board of
Anesthesia in 2006 and Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesia Pain Management in
2007.
He is an active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the
American Society of Anesthesia.
Dr. Naveen Tipirneni joined Millennium Pain Center in 2007. He is now a partner in the
practice and is the Director of MPC at Resurrection in Chicago. Since joining Millennium Pain
Center, he has committed his time both professionally and personally to educating the public
that people can improve their quality of life, despite the debilitating effects of chronic pain. He
enjoys lecturing to the community and believes that the patient themselves should be their
strongest advocate with their health care needs. He attempts to empower the patient with the
education of what is available to treat their pain. Dr. Tipirneni uses both medical management
and the most advanced procedures available to treat his patient's pain. He is exceptionally
proud of the fact he is consistently in the top 2-3 physicians in patient compliments from the
hospital he practices.
His clinical interests reside in treating Failed Back Surgery Syndrome, vertebral compression
fractures, RSD, and cancer pain management. He also is committed to offering his patients
new treatment options through clinical research trials as well.
Dr. Tipirneni grew up outside of Champaign- Urbana. It is this fondness for the area that
brings him back to practice and educate the community about chronic pain. He is always
available to field questions regarding a question a person may have regarding their pain. Dr.
Tipirneni mainly sees patients from the Chicago office and can be contacted at that number for
an appointment. He is currently taking new patients.
Dr. Atiq Rehman has dedicated his medical career treating patients suffering with pain. He
graduated from Rawalpindi where he completed his anesthesiology residency at State
University of New York at Buffalo, NY. He obtained his Fellowship in Pain Management with
SUNY at Roswell Park Cancer Institute Buffalo, NY, which is a highly reputed Cancer Treatment
Center in the Country.
In 2006, Dr. Rehman moved to Bloomington, IL and joined the Millennium Pain Center. Ever
since he has been providing compassionate medical care to his patients and improving the
quality of life by managing pain and restoring function. He is actively involved in educating the
medical and general community about Advancements in Interventional Pain Management.
His areas of clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain
syndromes using conservative as well as interventional pain treatment modalities, including
spinal injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency lesioning, and implantable drug delivery
systems and spinal cord stimulators. Dr. Rehman is a member of then American Society of
Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Society of
Anesthesiology, and American Medical Association.


Vinita Parikh, MD joined Millennium Pain Center this September 2010. She is dedicated to
treating patients with pain and is actively involved in clinical research trials.
She obtained her M.D. degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in 2005. Dr Parikh
also has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Creighton
University. She did her anesthesia residency at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Il. After
completing her anesthesia residency she pursued an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship
at Cornell Tri Institute Fellowship program which for Special Surgery in New York where she
was fellow of the year.
Her areas of clinical expertise and interest include anesthesiology, chronic pain, and cancer
pain.
Dr. Parikh is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and American Society of
Intervention Pain Physician.
In her spare time, Dr. Parikh enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and photography.
